Sad Love Poem due to separation
69
Back in 1977 I spent a long and lonely year away from my wife. There was no possibility of getting home. At that time we we’re into the seventeenth year of our marriage – we celebrated our Golden Anniversary this year (2010) - and I missed her. These poems, each of which might be alternately called a sad love poem, or a long distance love poem or simply short romantic love poems, were the result of this temporary parting. Firstly a Sad Love Poem
Love
Love, the pleasure, pain, life:
Closeness, distance – of husband and wife;
Love, you, me, as we were
Before this parting did occur;
Close as thought: distant as a star
Love is as we shall be, as we are.
Short romatic poem
And one I’m sure came from Astral Travel during sleep. Short romantic love poems seemed the order of the day, for I wrote more than are shown here. It could also be called a:
Long Distant Love Poem
In dreams of intimacy that are really than real,
I ask you how you come to me.
Your reply: I came not to you,
My darling, you came to me
And when I awaken the dream still seems real,
Realer than reality – that’s how I feel...

How beautiful. My husband is working away from home for the first time of our married lives. We have been married for 30 years and it's tough. He's back next summer. Looking forward to our Golden!
Beautiful. How hard it must have been to be separated from your love. I could not bear it.
